I have been at the crash scenes and have seen the very worst. I have picked up the pieces and broken the bad news to families. I have charged and prosecuted at fault drivers and put them before a court of law. I have been professional and was considered an "expert" by the Courts in my field of crash investigation. I have had tears in my eyes as I have spoken to grieving mums and dads and of that I am not ashamed. I am Craig, and those times have continued to shape me into a committed road safety advocate.
During my policing career I knew I could do more to make our young people safer on the road and I commenced my own business as a learner driver instructor. During that time I had the opportunity to teach driving skills to a number of police officers sons and daughters as they knew of my committed teaching style, and I felt honoured that they entrusted me to help shape the future of their sons and daughters.
My career of policing has come to an end and whilst that brings some sadness it also results in a time benefit to allow me to broaden my teaching into the public sphere.
I drive the roads in our area and I can no longer influence the behaviour of those I see who make poor decisions. My question to all parents out there is what are you going to do to keep your youngster safe out on the road?
My mission is to use my extensive knowledge and skills to prepare our young drivers to have the right competencies and mindset to achieve a lifetime of safe driving. I am not superman and I wish to enlist the help of all parents out there to work together with me to achieve the best results for your loved ones.
If I can achieve that then I am continuing to make a difference within the community.
